My path to become an Empowerment Coach became clear at an early age. Throughout my life friends, acquaintances and even family have sought me out for guidance, advice and support.

My friend Neil was one of those people. He was from out of the country and though he had entered Canada legally, his working visa was no longer valid, so he was here, working and living illegally. Neil had great anxieties about that and wasn’t sure what was going to happen, as he loved living in Canada and had done so for many years, but, he came as an animator and because of the new computer programs that had come out in the time he had spent here in Canada, his craft, drawing animations by hand, was no longer needed. Besides, he was really done with being an animation artist and was looking for his next move. On top of that, he was really wanting to meet that special someone in his life as well as he really wanted to record a CD of his original music and get it out into the world. Problem was, he was working a minimum wage job and cutting a record was expensive.

I worked with Neil for about a year. In that time, he went from feeling his plight in life was somewhat hopeless, to feeling like there was an answer, though, he was unsure of what that really looked like. We pressed on and continued to work together. Suddenly, we came up with a list of ideas he could use to raise funding for hi studio time and cutting the CD. He went out and before long, his lifelong dream of producing a CD was there. He had his first pressing complete with a CD release party and everything. He also, in the meantime, had met the woman of his dreams who later became his wife. She is Canadian and they were able to sponsor Neil to become a permanent resident of Canada. Today Neil is happy, fulfilled, still with his amazing wife and they are ecstatic being together.
